An Interview! With USA Today Bestselling Author Serena B. Miller

It has been my absolute pleasure to work with all of the authors in Beyond the Door and look forward to the next 3 volumes where we will be writing where no authors have written before (well, maybe they have, but not that often. At least not as often as us. And we’re only going once. And we’re doing it in an abandoned farm house. I bet they’ve never done it in an abandoned farm house. Write stories, I mean).

For today’s newsletter I was able to chat briefly with award-winning author Serena B. Miller. Here is a transcript of the recording I didn’t make in violation of wiretap laws.

A. B. Alvarez: So, I’m dialing Serena B. Miller today for an interview about how great it was combining our efforts to bring our readers the Beyond the DoorAnthology. Serena is an award-winning, multi-published author who was gracious enough to pause in the middle of the fourth book in her Moriah’s Lighthouse series to contribute three short stories for our project.

Serena: Hello. Who is this?

A.B.: Hi Serena. This is your friend, A.B. Alvarez. I’d like to interview you about our upcoming anthology series.
Serena: How did you get my phone number?

A.B.: (cough) You normally write full-length sweet romances. What made you decide to try your hand at an entirely different genre?
Serena: You three guys showed up at my house and wouldn’t leave until I wrote three supernatural short stories for your anthology. It was the only way I could get you to go away.

A.B.: Now, Serena…you know it wasn’t quite like that.
Serena: It was exactly like that. And you were eating me out of house and home.

A.B.: It was just a snack or two.
Serena: I considered calling the police.

A.B.: The police?
Serena: Yes. Now, about the silverware that turned up missing…

A.B.: No worries. I just borrowed a few pieces for a party I was having. I’ll bring it back.
Serena: NO! Don’t bring it back! I have three restraining orders pending.

A.B.: Well, it was great talking to you again, Serena…
Serena: …and I’m changing my phone number…

A.B.: Thank you for participating in…
Serena: …I’m selling my house and moving far, far away…

Ahem. Just for the record: it was only two restraining orders.

What will you feel?
A.B. Alvarez
