Litter, or…ALIEN ARTIFACT?

You don't really expect me to believe that's just a collection of plastic jugs...?

So there I was minding my own business, arriving home late as usual, when what do my wandering eyes have appeared but (no, not reindeer) a glowing globe!

No, seriously. A large translucent globe floating near the shore of the Hudson.

Here is a picture of it the next morning.

And another one.

And another one.

What could this glowing object be that had magically appeared before me?

I looked around, and while there were various people wandering the area, no one seemed concerned about this rather interesting object.

Turns out, the next day was the Yonkers Riverfest. A young woman, whose name I will not mention, told me that a truck had come by earlier in the day and moored the globe in the water.

Apparently it was plastic bottle art. The globe was made of dozens (hundreds?) of plastic bottles with some sort of light source because it glowed last night when I first saw it.

Pretty cool!

The festival was quite nice with the Yonkers Police closing of a rather large swath of riverfront Yonkers to allow a large number of vendors, singers, and pedestrians to enjoy the hot weather while putting steps on their Fitbit (or maybe that’s just me).

The globe was gone a few days later and no one seemed concerned.

Plastic Bottle Art? I think not! I’m still betting on the alien artifact.

Thanksgiving is almost here! How did that happen?

What’s the strangest thing you’ve even come across? Tell me in the comment box!
